78 Derngate
The only house in England designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and a multi award-winning visitor attraction. On site is a boutique restaurant, art galleries, a design shop and elegant function rooms.
Northampton Guildhall
A must see for its gothic architecture and stained glass windows, with statues of prominent local people, as well as information about the history. Can visit the Great Hall, Council Chambers, Mayor's Parlour and the old prison cells.
Abington Park
Including Abington Park Museum (in a 500 year old manor house), café, flowers, lakes, and an aviary.
Or for parks nearer the St Luke's Centre we have the leafy Dallington Park or Upton Country Park on the banks of the Nene.
Delapre Abbey
Just one mile from the town centre or 3 miles from the St Luke's Centre. Grade II listed and has had substantial repair and restoration works over the last few years. Exhibitions show 900 years of the Abbey's history and a walk in the beautiful grounds is well worthwhile.
Near Delapre Abbey is one of the few remaining Queen Eleanor crosses
These were set up by Edward I at the resting places of his wife's body as she was transported back to London.
For those who like shopping, Grosvenor Shopping Centre is conveniently central, or there are numerous shoe factory shops which have to be worth a visit.

Just outside Northampton for those coming by car is the family home of Princess Diana.
